The Dax Hunter Files: #2
A Banner of Knights
As ruthless Cold War plotters strategize like grandmasters, one reluctant hero is propelled into the eye of yet another global storm.
Hours before the capital falls, one of the Reich’s most feared men fashions his inelegant escape. Years later, a Zionist guerilla is hanged for attempted murder. Then, in 1982, an archipelago deep in the Southern Ocean is invaded by hostile forces.
Along with his feisty CIA partner, Dax Hunter finds himself in a race against time to stop one of the KGB’s most ambitious prodigies.
But first, he must try to make sense of these seemingly unconnected events.
Reviews
Gary Albyn is fast establishing himself as master and commander of his genre. I can do no better than commend this book—and many more after it—to the reader.

Hollywood film directors would score a box office hit with ‘A Banner of Knights’. Gary Albyn has produced an international thriller covering five decades of heart-pumping action. From Israel, Argentina, South Africa and Lebanon, Albyn takes the reader on a supersonic adventure. Filled with fascinating characters, the plot ignites the imagination like it has never been lit before.

‘A Legion of Warriors’ was an excellent book. ‘A Banner of Knights’ is even better. Gary Albyn has created believable, well-fleshed out characters and a well-constructed storyline. The breadth of the thriller, from the Falklands through South Africa to the Middle East and Moscow never loses its pace.

‘A Banner of Knights’ follows historically based timelines filled with action that is sure to impress any history enthusiast. This book is a great standalone novel and can be read individually but personally recommend reading them in succession. Yet again, Gary delivers another exciting tale!

From where his first book, ‘A Legion of Warriors’ takes a breather, Albyn continues with his latest saga to weave historical fact and fiction superbly, all at a blistering pace across many continents during the cold-war conflicts of the 1970s and 1980s. The action and intrigue are a real page turner. Another great read!

He does it again! Gary Albyn’s mastery of spinning words and weaving a story shines through on this one! Albyn is emerging as a superb adventure/historical fiction author. He has a talent with words that is truly unique. If you like Wilbur Smith, Edward Rutherford and Leon Uris, you’ll love this guy. I can’t wait to see where he takes us next!

Takes over from where ‘A Legion of Warriors’ left off with the action never stopping! Gripping, thrilling yarn taking in the Falklands War, South Africa's covert nuclear weapons research and the Middle East. Knowledgeable descriptions and excellent writing. Gary really knows how to pull his readers into the story. The likes of Messrs McNab, Ryan and Clancy (along with newcomers like Greaney, Blackwood and Cameron), had better watch out as there's a new guy in town.

What can I say … Gary Albyn, having waited with anticipation after ‘A Legion of Warriors’, I was not disappointed! Loved the weaving of the story line and the twists! I said it before, and I’ll say it again, if you like the Andy McNabs and Chris Ryans of the literary world, this will make your day! My only regret? Having to wait for the next one in the series. Take a bow, Gary. Excellent book and a great read!

This book thrills and captivates from cover to cover. The characters’ twists and turns—cleverly interwoven with real historic events—make for a truly fascinating read. I really didn't want the story to end, and guess what? It hasn't, so I'm waiting with bated breath for the next one in the Hunter series.
